The Figure in Movement: Drawing (an intensive experimental course)

A three-day, intensive and experimental drawing course with 2 tutors, who specialise in drawing and creating inventive processes to encourage fresh ways of looking and creating images. Emily and Katie share their love of drawing as a process of exploration and discovery. This exciting course is a wonderful and unique opportunity for artists to explore the breadth and depth of drawing: working with charcoal, ink, simple animation, collage, installation, working on both very large and small scale, different surfaces and in collaboration with the model and other the artists.

The large space of the studio will be transformed using installations for the figure to move through and interact with. The walls will be generously covered with rolls of paper for the atists to work on. All the materials will be provided during the course. Over the three days students will create many drawings and importantly have the freedom to really push into the creative process; taking risks and playing to find out what they love about working from the figure and what the versatility of the materials can offer. The course will culminate in finished work as well as lots of material from which paintings can be made in the future. The following week in the sudio there will be a Figure Painting Course. This drawing course would be fantastic preparation for the painting course. Why not come to both?!
