John Skinner

John Skinner

Profile

John Skinner has nearly 50 years of painting experience. During this time he has invented his own 'Silent Language of Paint' and reinvented his work time and again to create physical and and poetic connection to his subjects. He has dedicated his life uncompromisingly to the 'Joie de Vivre of Painting'. He applies this same principle to his teaching and many sayings that can be heard at the Seawhite studio have come from John and his philosophy of painting truths.....'Crap into Gold', 'The Scalpel of Particularity' and 'White is your friend'. John's work embodies his connection to Nature in a fundamental, sensitive and powerful way. More recently he has been drawing and painting in the forests near his mountain house in France.
