Colour - Acrylics and Mediums (NEW)

New Course

This course will firstly help you to become confident mixing and arranging colours and secondly help you to discover the versatility of acrylics when used with specific mediums; from thin and transparent to thick and opaque. You will practice making judgments about tonal values, which types of yellows and blues to mix together to make different greens and how to mix greys. Then using these skills you will layer colour one on top of the other to make them glow and ‘pop’. Choosing to make colours clash or harmonise, one colour to intensify another. You will make a series of paintings exploring these themes. Looking at Artists such as Rothko, Richard Diebenkorn, , Patrick Heron Ivon Hitchens, Winifred Nicholson, Sean Scully, Matthew Collings and Emma Biggs.
