Abstract Painting (NEW)

 Explore and discover how to make abstract work using a wide range of materials and techniques. The materials will be the starting point for the work. Flooding the canvas, glazing, drawing into thick paint and plaster, dissolving paint and coloured pigments are some of the processes that will be explored. Also using the chance factor, together with colour, line, form, including patterns and shapes, to inspire us to intuitively make very exciting paintings. There will be demonstrations by the tutor and we will be looking at artists such as Helen Frankenthaler, Gillian Ayres, Alexis Harding, Tapies, Yves Klein, Julian Schnabel, Frank Stella and more.
