Putting People into Painting - Movement - Term 1

Monday and Tuesdays monthly. The course dates are October 3rd & 4th,  October 31st and November 1st and the 28th and 29th of November

To start the term dance, performance and movement acts as the inspiration (Piña Bauch, Merce Cunningham, Marie Chouinard, and Japanese Butoh). Students can work from a real performance, you tube films and DVDs and also a model in the studio. Students will make a wide range of drawings and preparatory work, in the form of collage,drawings, large floor drawings, quick paintings using a wide range of materials, photos and 3D maquettes; creating a wide range of colours, forms, shapes, lines, gestured marks, textures and tone as well as materials related to the moving figure.
