New Year - New Courses!
Drawing and Sound 2. William Stuart
We are are lucky to have Betsy Dadd and Lydia CS run Drawing and Sound, one of our first courses of the New Year. They work as a duo - Kaleidoworks - in various community settings with schools, galleries and public realm using the mediums of drawing, film, animation and sound in playful and accessible ways.
This innovative course is the perfect way to kick start your creative energy and experiment with sound and drawing.
Julian Brown is an artist who is interested in the materiality of paint and in exploring colour, form and harmony. He is a inspiring tutor and Seawhie Studio students find his courses exciting and enjoy learning about developing and working with colour and texture.
Beauty of Surface 2
'Julian's introduction to unusual ways of developing textured surfaces, based around the use of acrylic paints provided a hugely stimulating basis for experimentation. The group, which came from a broad range of painting experiences all found his demonstrations exciting, and he taught with humour and sensitivity to the needs of each of us'. (Beauty of Surface 2017) Camilla Blunt
Katie Sollohub is a Sussex based artist, interested in documenting and recording the places where she lives and work in through drawings, paintings, performance, photography and poetry. Her work and her courses explore the narrative components surrounding objects, memories, interior and exterior spaces.
Painting by Candleight is a magical course - a perfect opportunity to capture the moods and atmosphere of the Winter season through painting.
'I am a representational painter with a keen interest in the use of digital technologies as a developmental tool. My work is also informed by my long-term interest in process-based Abstraction and object making'.
